APR Technologies has sold the first units of Denseρack – optimized immersion-cooled battery modules – to a major company in the automotive industry. The units are intended to improve the performance and lifespan of the customer’s products. ”After years of developing and testing prototypes of Denseρack, we look forward to this external evaluation with confidence,” says Sara-Mi Liljeholm, Project Manager at APR Technologies.

The Denseρack solution offers unique advantages in size and weight – while also providing an inherited fire protection mechanism. This enables ultra-fast charging without severe aging of battery cells and electronics.

The combination of robust safety and high-density packaging of battery cells is made possible by the efficient and optimized immersion cooling system developed by APR Technologies.

APR Technologies’ products offer high performance and sustainability. The dielectric coolant in Denseρack is non-toxic and readily biodegradable with a Global Warming Potential GWP <1. Battery cells have an optimum operation temperature and APR Technologies’ solution enables more advanced thermal control than other market solutions – which improves system efficiency and lifetime.

The modules are being assembled at APR Technologies new battery pilot production line in Enköping, Sweden.

“We like to keep the design clean, simple and cost-efficient, without compromising on performance and environmental aspects. We really look forward to delivering Denseρack to this customer as they have promised an honest opinion,” says Sara-Mi Liljeholm, Project Manager for the pilot production line.
